Birds of Paradise Cloisonné Necklace is part of my Enamel Jewelry Collection.

The Birds of Paradise Cloisonné Necklace, also known as the Crane Flower or Strelitzia, is so named because of its resemblance to a bird in flight. Full of unique shapes and brilliant colors, it’s been the muse of many artist—myself included.

On one side, the flower spreads its petals like an attention-hungry peacock. Banana leaves surround it, fanned out like a crown. The emerald greens, golds, blues, and oranges are all contrasted with lines of 24k gold. As a young artist my choice of drawing supplies was ink. I spent many years enjoying pointillism.  Everything changed for me when we moved to Hawaii! I called it an artist candy land.. Color everywhere, the birds, fish, colors of the ocean, not to mention the flowers!! And this is when I became a Enamel Jewelry artist.

One side of  this Cloisonné Necklace is filled with colors of the flowers. The opposite side is side is nothing but bright and shinny 18k gold. Birds of Paradise Cloisonné Necklace boasts of a rare orange garnet known as a Mandarin Spessartite.
