This ruby red enamel pendant brings together my love of Hibiscus and art nouveau jewelry.
Hibiscus is a genus composed of several hundred species of flowering plants. Renowned for their large, showy blooms, gardeners often use these plants to attract pollinators. They’re also steeped in symbolism.
People in Tahiti and Hawaii use them to denote relationship status. It also serves as a national symbol for the people of Haiti and South Korea. With such cultural significance.
The gold enameled “Hibiscus” is hand chased, and enameled in red. Many of you may know this is the hardest of all colors to work with. First, I carved out the shapes in the 18k gold, next enameled to represent the petals. Then, I added an art nouveau frame, ruby stamens, and a delicate ruby dangler.
If you’re looking for a gift for the love in your life, you can’t go wrong with The Ruby Red Hibiscus Pendant.
