As an enamel jewelry designer and maker, the commitment to exceptional craftsmanship is not just a profession to me but a passion. I transform each piece into a wearable work of art.
An inspiration behind this creativity? The Earth itself. My love for nature is evident in every meticulously crafted jewel, capturing the timeless and awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds us.
Each creative endeavor I undertake has a singular objective – to deliver a distinctive, unique, one of a kind, jewel that conveys something special to its recipient, making it more than just an accessory; but a cherished memory.
The journey from concept to creation begins as an artist’s palette – I enjoy drawing my ideas, then painting them out in watercolors. Sometimes you think colors will look great together, only to find after firing them in enamels they may not look as you imagined.
How a true piece of art begins:
The wellspring of inspiration for me is boundless. Extensive travel experiences, a love for nature, and a keen sense of environmental responsibility converge to shape each jewelry piece. From oceanic motifs drawn from diving experiences, to the simplicity and beauty found in everyday life.

Taking time to travel slowly even through the ocean helps one to see jewels like this little one.
Using my experience as a diver to draw from when creating my oceanic jewelry pieces was first hand.
Working from nature in my own garden, these Bird of Paradise flowers have always captured my interest and influenced me in my jewelry designs.
And in my greenhouse, which gives me almost as much pleasure as making beautiful jewels, I grow various orchids and lilies to promote delicate features in creating Gold Enamel Jewelry.
In a harmonious marriage of old-world jewelry-making techniques and contemporary innovation, my work stands as a testament to timeless beauty. High karat metals in silver and gold, perfected enameling techniques, and the crowning touch of precious stones result in exquisite, one of a kind, enamel jewels meant to endure generations.
Sometimes you will find me along the shore watching the wild life. One day on a nearby small sandbar/island I captured a male and female Great Heron resting.
And this Great Heron below was so camouflaged I barely saw him!
The symbolic meaning of Blue Herons:
- Stillness and Observation: Herons are known for their patient stance while waiting for prey, signifying the importance of taking time to observe and reflect before action.
- Abundance and Opportunity: Their ability to catch fish and thrive in diverse environments can symbolize potential for new opportunities and blessings.
- Confidence and Elegance: The heron’s poised walk and graceful flight suggest confidence in oneself and the ability to navigate challenging situations with poise.
- Harmony and Balance: Being able to navigate both water and land environments represents the need to find balance and harmony in different aspects of life.
- Self-Reflection and Inner Strength: Herons are often associated with the need for introspection and finding strength within oneself to overcome challenges.
Last sentence… And one last photo… One afternoon I spotted a nearby Great Horned Owl, and to my surprise, while trying to get his photo he opened his eyes and peered at me!
